Four levels of assessments are available. Most students will engage in two assessments, the first assessment will be easy as it will review skills acquired in the past school years. The second assessment will identify the point where the student is challenged or is unable to read some or most of the words or content.
The objective is to place the student at a starting point where that have sufficient skills to read the words and content. Once the student is engaged in the lessons, the content moves into the areas where the student will learn new reading skills.
The Startup Reading Curriculum provides a foundation in reading skills. The assessment conducts an inventory of the student’s reading level and skills independent of age or grade level. The assessment results will indicate if the student needs specific foundation skills missed at an earlier time or if they should be placed within a specific course, such as Long and Short Vowels or Digraphs & Blends.
